The history of Grove City Country Club dates back to December 3, 1903, when the Barmore Lake Association formed to maintain a public park and facilities for various athletic activities. Over the years, financial challenges arose, leading to a mortgage of $2,900 by 1915 and the realization that a change in ownership was necessary.

In June 1917, shortly after the United States entered World War I, 107 subscribers chartered the new Grove City Country Club, completing the transition of ownership. By 1918, annual membership dues were established at five dollars. During World War II, the area now designated as picnic grounds was utilized as an orchard, where members cultivated “Victory Gardens” alongside the driving range.

Throughout its history, the club underwent various property acquisitions, culminating in a significant expansion of the golf course in the 1990s. The addition of the "new nine" holes in 1996, designed by John Ponko, finalized the transition to a fully operational 18-hole golf course.

Currently, Grove City Country Club is recognized as the region's premier private country club, featuring an award-winning golf course set in a serene environment that offers its members and guests a unique and pleasurable experience.
